When do you actually feel PP#3 in the downswing? I really can't feel it til right before imapct, into impact, and just past impact.
Should I feel it earlier? If so, how?

Daly at Skins Game

It looks like JD could hit the ball by only holding the club with PP3 and his thumb. Esp. love his wedge game and the way he does it.
Any thoughts on when us mere mortals should feel it?

I always felt it during the change of direction. I can really feel when I putt, with a nice, relaxed grip. During the takeaway, I don't see how you could sense the PP#3 (this is the index finger, correct?) Thus, it would seem that at some point in the either the transition or downswing is when you would really feel the lag in that trigger finger.

The latter, the better.

If that's the case, do it. The latter, the better.

You should, if you could. But, you might run into the trouble of throwing it away "right before imapct, into impact, and just past impact".

How? You sustain it, once it's loaded (at transition or starting down).

Assuming you're a swinger, let your pivot load the shaft against your PP#3 at the top of your backswing. PP#3 should be positioned so that it is just under the shaft @ the top. For that matter let the pivot load all the pp's you're using for your pattern at the top of your backswing. A top of backswing assembly point of the power package--If your a hitter it's an altogether different story. PP#3 is passive, however the moment of the shaft as propelled by the pivot can be just the opposite-- go ahead and let that shaft load against pp#3. Jack Nicklaus used to snap load @ the top of his backswing, then really kill it.
