Preferred Plane?

Brian, I just rewatched a video of yours - the one about the logo look. At the end of the video, you seem to advocate the EP over the TSP (or at least dropping to the EP from ther TSP on the downswing). I've always learned that the EP is the preferred plane, but many of the guys around here seem to think either the EP or the TSP is fine. Rather than guessing because I could be mis-reading your comments, I thought I'd just ask you directly - do you believe that the EP is preferable to the TSP and, if so, why? Thanks very much.

Obey the "Law".

The "Law" prefers TSP, regardless of whatever plane employed.

the mother nature

Sorry, I don't follow. Would you mind telling me what you mean by "the law"?
It means "the mother nature" or the law of the universe, actually.

Tie a rock to the other end of a string and swirl it around. The "law" tends to keep it on a flat plane.

Okay, you say that the "law" tends to a flat plane. Please correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the EP flatter than the TSP?

You are a man of few words! Why do you say it's a "manipulation"? From what I see, the vast majority of pros use the EP.

I think bts means single - straight plane, doesn't matter how much is tilted from vertical. I we would like to swing this way we should have straight line with arms and shaft from the down the line view - sort like Moe Norman - my gues.

Anyone else have any thoughts as to whether the EP or TSP is preferable?

Brian, when you have a minute, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks.

I don't think it really matters.

I have a student who REALLLLLLLLLLLY wanted to swing on the eblow plane. He really wanted me to show him how to do it.

It took a few lessons of me DRILLING INTO HIM that it doesn't matter WHAT PLANE YOU USE as long as the imperatives are met.

A few weeks after taking lessons (and swinging down the TSP) he had the best golf week of his life on vacation missing only a few fairways and a few greens and didn't shoot over 79 i believe.

--------

It doesn't matter what plane you use as long as you STAY ON PLANE!

As Fred Couples http://www.brianmanzella.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7518 is leaving "his" downswingplane 1 frame before impact.
