Problem squaring up my hands

Hi again! My second post. :)

I recently finished reading Bobby Clampett's book "The Impact Zone". Lot of good stuff there, I think. Fun to read too. (Any warning signs?)

So, I'm working on getting my swing bottom more forward, about 4 inches in front of the ball. This by keeping my mind on getting my hands to the aiming point, well, of course again, in front of the ball.

Works nice on small shots, but on full swing (again) - nope! When my hands are in front of the ball at impact, my club face is open. How do I get my club face square? I probably need to rotate the sweetspot in some way. This is not easy to do when I sort of pull or drag my hands to this aiming point. I tried, as you suggested in som short video clip to take the thumb (right - but in my case, since I'm a southpaw, my left thumb) of the shaft, but this didn't help much. (Shanks, here we come ;) )

Sorry if this is a little blurry - I'm a Swedish/Polish guy and my English is perhaps not the best at all time.

Ah, one more thing, is the #3 PP just for monitoring lag or should I actively use it as a force in some way?

And Brian, thanks for all superb video tips.

Square Hands.

You should NOT square up your hands.

You should square up the whole left arm flying wedge.

If you need a little "Twist-about-the-shaft" cool. But not too much.

BTW, I am not a fan of the impact zone book.

Ok, yeah, the whole arm - I get that.

If I may ask, which parts or thesis of the book are in your opinion bad or wrong? I have found some things myself and I always read books with academic criticism. But, but...

There was one drill in the book that I liked - the one where you draw a line in the bunker and then try to hit the sand some inches after that line. I also liked the part where Bobby explains; the hands must go for the aiming point in front of the ball. That's, he writes, is how you get your swing bottom forward. Focus of the ball and on the hands.

Edit: What I don't like, is the proposal, well he really emphasises this, that one should set the hands deliberately right at the start of the back swing. Doesn't work at all for me.

Anyway, I was playing 18 holes today at my home course Barsebäck GCC in Sweden. Before, in the morning I watched one of your videos where you explained how the back shoulder, (I prefer to write back and front, not left and right since I'm a leftie.) should point down at the ball in forward swing. (Golf show, Episode #4) Hope you understand what I mean.

This helped me a lot and I played my best round of golf this season thanks to that tip :)
For real, I have never hit or strucked the ball better before.

Cheers

I'm working on that same issue of squaring the club face/ hands myself. I have most DVDs and am not sure which one talks about "squaring up the whole left arm flying wedge." At this point I think I'm doing too much "twist-about-the-shaft." Any suggestions would be appreciated!::confused:
