problem with right should down plane

I am having a problem getting my right shoulder to go down plane. When I send my shoulder down plane my weight usual falls onto my back foot. When I try to make sure my weight goes to my front foot I usually sway out in front of the ball. Also my head tends to go down with my shoulder.

I think I need to get my weight left but also clear my left hip / shoulder when the right shoulder goes down plane. Does that make any sense at all?

The on plane right shoulder motion is possible only by tilting its axis, the spine, and the shift of weight comes from the hip motion slidding slightly to the left.
hope this will help.

Try holding a club across your chest. Then turn back to top of backswing and then turn back to have chest shoulders back to facing the ball but with the shoulders fairly level and weight on the left hand side. From this position feel you move the shoulder straight down. This should stretch left side and compress right side. This is release :D

Thanks for the tip, it definately feels different than what I have been doing.

Anyone else have any insight?

JRose,
Brian has mentioned that he often has better luck getting his students to move the left shoulder up and back than when they try and move the right shoulder down plane. You might give this a try, I believe that BirdieMan has mentioned that right shoulder down never has worked for him, but that concentrating on the left shoulder moving up helps him a lot. I hope this helps.
