I have this bad habit of decelerating when putting, does anyone have any good drills for me to try to rid myself of this bad habit, every time I think I have it figured out it comes back

Thanks

For me, it is easy to decelerate when my hands are behind the ball at address. Also when my grip pressure gets tight I tend to decelerate. A little forward press and a light grip usually cures me.

Restricting the length of my bacswing works for me.

Practice putting with your lead arm only. Make sure you hit it solid and feel a very slight lag in the club on the way down..Relax the arm.

I like to let the right wrist break back a tiny bit in the transition and attempt to maintain that hinge through the ball.

seek constant speed thru the impact zone as opposed to acceleration.
It might be fear of over accelerating that causes you to hit the brakes.....
think about it.

Two things can really help.Make sure the through stroke is longer than the backstroke.Feel like the putting stroke is a push rather than a hit....very much like the full swing actually.

Thanks Im gonna work really hard on this, I lose so many strokes a round on the greens my ball striking is decent, I'd like to get to single digit handicap, and I think the best way for me to do that is o shave strokes in my short game so that will be my focus this year.

Ive been putting using my left arm/hand, Its been a revelation, lights out baby.

Right hand is just along for the ride, use the standard grip no reverse overlap
(more left hand fingers touching the club) Never thought I'd ever putt this good.
