Putts: Those little "testers"

Miserable golf life I've led where I always have played "sneaky bad". No matter how good my ball striking, I always seemed to post 80-86 range. I routinely have always missed 3-4 footers- those little testers. Actually, I missed them more often than I made them. But a playing partner of mine noticed recently my shoulder line was very closed to my stance line, which is parallel to the target line. I squared my shoulders to my feet and I have been hitting those little putts now.

I'm about to get ready to deliver my "Hello World" coming out speech!

I seem to remember somewhere on the forum where most golfers need to swing the putter left more. Is that done to create the proper arc of approach? Does the left shoulder have to move left in the stroke to accomplish this?

Sustain the Lag,

John
