Question for Brian, Mike and Tom

I have gotton away from speaking in Golf Machine terms over the years, but after spending some time over the last few months reading all the posts, I am confident that everything I'm teaching goes back to what y'all and Ben have tried to teach me.

One day, I will be smart enough to post my swing on the site to put pictures with the words, today is not that day.

Being familar with my swing as you are, I have recently been experiencing some things I would like your feedback on. I was in N.O. right before Katrina and played 18 holes at Audubon with Tom. As is usually the case, our round became more of a practice session, but we still played and holed out etc. Tom was getting me to try and face my belt buckle at the target at impact to try and utilize a little more pivot power. The next few rounds after that were great for me, but for one reason or another you start working on something else(bad cocunut).

That leads to my question: I have always stuggled with "staying behind it" and utilizing my pivot, and aimimg my hands all at once. Should I feel like my shoulders stay back and turned as my hips fire through? When I do this, I hit the baller higher on the face thus enabling me to hit these big drivers further.

Give me your thoughts.

Brent,

You have to work on IMPACT FIX and what I call "FOLLOW THROUGH FIX."

IMPACT FIX (Manzella Stlye):

Get to impact as exact to spec as possible...WHILE you are there, LOAD some pressure into the PIVOT (mostly the hips) and retain it—AND—load some pressure on your #3 pressure point and retain it.

FOLLOW-THROUGH FIX (Manzella Style):

From impact fix, pick the club up and start with a post separation fix with the clubhead just in front of the ball...from there, work the club and your pivot to the follow through and load some pivot pressure at that point. You can also MOVE from post-separation fix to follow through fix BACK AND FORTH.

Doing some Homer Kelley style waggles over the ball (just a movement from impact fix to follow through fix), might help, but I find, because of the increased waist bend doing it My Way, it just is more realistic.

Let these two things DICTATE ALL OF YOUR SWING COMPONENTS!!!

(I might have to do a video on this) ;)

A video that incorporates these ideas would be great. Maybe you can add that to the final version of your latest video series.
