In a previous message, you gave your address checklist. Here it is:

Address check list:

1.left wrist on top of shaft
2.left wrist paralell to the leading edge of te clubface (for straight shot)
3.shaft points to center of hips
elbows point at their respective hips
4.spine angle and tilt (established according to club being used)
5.shoulders, hips, knees, feet paralell to taget line.

In reference to no. 4, how do you determine the spine angle and tilt (I assume right tilt)????

I am reconstucting my alignment and address. I have a right shoulder that tilts TOO MUCH and forward pressing hands at address.

I am really focusing on Brian's setup article and striving to achieve a consistent and solid setup routine with good alignments.

Concerning consistency....how do I know which clubs to open the stance on? Usually I do this on wedges...maybe a little on 9 iron. Should I open my stance for these clubs?
How do I know which clubs to employ a little more right tilt at address? (I assume I should do this on the driver a bit). When do I give more...or less spine angle?

With regard to #4 and how much spine angle (bending at the hip sockets)..... it depends on the length of club you use....shorter club more angle.

As far as the amount of tilt at address, merely stand with your weight on your right foot (left foot behind and left of right foot, toe on ground heel up no real body weight to speak of) then bend to aim the clubface and shoulders. Spine tilt is then automatically build in!

I am not a advocate of opening the stance for a straight shot. The amount of opening the stance is dictated by the amount of wrist rotation at address (opening the face) that is required for the shot at hand. This also takes care of ball postion, believe it or not.

#2 does indicates a change of the left wrist to clubface which may be required for extreme shots.

Stick with straight away shot learning until you feel you have that down then experiment with different alignments to create different effects.
