Why?
What is taught and what comes by instinct?
I don't know Boo and don't know about who his influences were.. (another Tour player's dad and I'm having a almost Sr. moment on his name) but he is a very pure striker admired by many on his peer level.
His action compresses the ball better than most and "longer" if that is possible (LOC). By longer, I feel, his odds of direction and distance control are superior.
Would I teach this particular move? Not unless I had a real athlete that could pound it, with a fade. John Holmes comes to mind. I would encourage a talent like this and stay out of his way. Tidy up the lines and swing shape on occaision and work like made inside 100 yards.
