Question from a flipper

I've been working hard to remove the flip from my swing, doing the drills in COAFF. Lots of chips and pitches, and attempts at the punch. The one thing that I notice is how tight I must keep my grip and forearms to maintain a FLW and BRW,especially in the punch shot. After a range session my forearms are sore from the tension.

I must be doing something wrong as I can't believe how much tension I need. Is it because I've flipped for 30 years? Any help will be appreciated.

Firm fingers and flexible wrists.

Ideally: Firm fingers and flexible wrists

Ideally: slow and heavy

But, at first, you may have to "hold on."

Better though, to find a way to NOT squeeze the club so much.

Where do your tee shots go?

Brian -

Most of my misses are pull - hooks when I flip. I tend to hit from the top and lose my posture. When I manage not to flip and stay down, they are straight to push fades.

I can hit a Ben Doyle chip about half the time if I just hold the club in my fingertips. I do better if I extend my right index finger down the shaft. I can feel the lag better that way (PP3?).
