I have been employing the NSA takeawy by bend my right wrist straight back while going to the top. From that point, if I think of "putting my right shoulder in my right pants pocket" i hit a push (w/ a slight draw or fade sometimes), or i hit a little behind it, and the ball flight is on the high side. If I think of getting my left shoulder to the sky i hit a pull hook or if i hold it i fade it hard. Is there something im doing wrong? should I think of from the top, Rockem Sockem robots? or is there something else totally wrong?

My two cents, but remember that this is coming from a bogey golfer: you need to remember to trace the straight plane line on the follow through. If you get the shaft on plane, the ball will go in the direction you want it to go and you then need to make sure you have the correct clubface control. I have not seen NSA, but I am assuming that the thoughts, such as "stick your right shoulder in your right pants pocket," are designed to get you swinging on plane. If you are pushing the ball, you are swinging too far right and need to get your shaft back on plane.

Never Slice Again...tempered....:)

If you are not slicing it—or hitting it perfect—you should employ the "twistaway" just enough to wind up with a perfectly flat left wrist with your left thumb under the club.

If you are using the FEEL that your "right shoulder is moving into your right pants pocket"—which "looks" like it is "passing" through your right heel—and you are OVER TILTED and UNDER ROTATED. You need to try to have your right shoulder "look" like it is "passing" through your LEFT HEEL.

You'll be fine.

Brian, can you explain "have your right shoulder "look" like it is "passing" through your LEFT HEEL."?

It would be like....

Tracing a straight line with the Right Shoulder FROM the top.

You sound like you are INSIDE that line...early.
