Quick NHA Question w/ Video

I have been losing a lot of balls left for a few months, so I have started to implement NHA. But, I go between a big fade and a soft draw and can still lose a ball 30 feet left occasionally.

6 iron:

Backswing too inside? any other NHA suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

spktho,

You have an too much early hip turn and not enough left arm wedge rotation soon enough in the back swing for a NHA type pattern.

Do you want more of a straight to fade type of action?

Looks good, a little "throwy" at impact. Maybe clubhead just gets in there a touch early. Are we shaking enough sugar? Or tossing a little toward the target?

Thanks Kevin,
I thought I was shaking the sugar. Maybe I need to shake the sugar more in front of the ball. I have always felt like I swing as if I was throwing a baseball like a submariner. So, I guess I'm a little confused on the toss, because when I throw too much, I feel real flippy. I've noticed from video that my right hand always comes off some too. When I feel like I'm dragging the handle, I seem to have the most control, but lose distance.

I agree, it looks to me like the problem is an early release. Very nice swing nevertheless.

I am a bit slow in interpreting some things. Playing today was pretty horrible ranging from shots of a 30 yard left pull hook to a high right slice 30 yards right with a 5 iron on the front--both par 3's. Was a little better on the back remembering the suggestions of a too early release, but not knowing for sure what it meant. So, I started to do what I felt like was holding the face off through impact, but was really just not rolling the hands. This definitely eliminated the lefts.

Is this the correct interpretation for delaying the early release? Working toward the tgm term "angled hinging" as Brian says in the video?

Thanks Kevin and wusly. I've been working on the release. I'm finding it's not just working with the hands motion--tilt and more upper body rotation, too. The second swing felt the best.

Am I going in the right direction?
