Radial vs longitudinal pull

More fun tinkering with my swing. I've been attempting the rope handle technique of pulling longitudinally on the lubshaft by pulling the butt end of the club at the target/plane line where the butt end points. Using a pen flashlight, that point is around 6-7 ft to the right of the ball.

Result: disaster. I was doing decently with a radial pull, where I aimed the direct pressure of pp2 and indirect pressure(more like mere contact) of pp3, linearly at the aiming point, at the inside corner of the ball for long irons and at a point a couple of ball widths in front of the ball for wedges.

Now with the longitudinal pull, their is a disruptive lack of unity. I start off pulling well to the right of the ball, while at the same time trying to trace the plane with pp3 . Feels like I am being pulled in 2 directions. Can't figure out how I am supposed to do the longitudinal pull while at the same time swinging the pressure points in a straight line to the aiming point.Feels like a circular motion, not linear. ALso feels like I am casting.

Results in fat shots, topped shots, and a once rare occurrence, slices. Been striking the ball horribly.

Homer doesn't describe a radial pull, only a radial push so I assume it isn't a valid option. Is the rope handle technique and longitudinal pull a mechanical explanation ,and more like a drill then what actually what one should feel during the swing? Reminds me of the right shoulder thrust that Homer and Yoda described as starting the downswing. I don't feel that at all. I only feel a pull from my left side. I feel that the left side pull causes the right shoulder "thrust". SImilarly, I am guessing that the radial pull , and its feel, causes the longitudinal pull. ????

Ah, this is what happens when one gets a total of 30 minutes of sleep in 2 days. Caffeine and a cat that thinks she is a dog.
