Have been thinking....have a theory.....

Brian....

If I know that I'm gonna go "wedding ring up" at the bottom.....

Is it likely I will roll it open more on my way to the top?

i.e. vs. if I'm gonna angle hinge......(even if I'm TRYING to make the same backswing).......

Well....

Not really.

Most people that I get to go to WEDDING RING UP for the first time, NEED to "twistaway" on the backswing.

As for myself, I once showed a fellow AI and PGA member how I could hit PERFECT little fades going to wedding ring up.

Toatlly hypnotized by his beliefs from his teacher, he just could come to grips with how I could do it. I just HAD TO BE A TRICK. He was MAD, but like I said, still totally unconvinced.

So, I hit a couple more.

Now—mind you—I was MAKING DAMN SURE I hit fades, so did I "roll it more open going back"?

Nah, I just got down and deeply under, and with forward hands and an open face, hit two more PERFECT FADES that would have made Lee Buck Trevino proud.

The pro just shook his head and walked away, trying to figure out a way to convince himself he didn't see what he just saw.

I've done that for students too and they have the same reaction, "how in the hell did that just happen?"
