Looking for opinions, the pros and cons of the several brands available.

I have a friend with the sky caddie, he loves it. He feels it has helped him tremendously with his golf game. He says 5 strokes. I say OK? Really?...maybe it has helped with his focus, but he still can't beat me!!!

Because we play many a round together, I have benefited from experimentation. I love the fact that I get the dimension of the greens, but that's about it.

More than several times on differing courses, the yardage given seemed to be off by more than 10 yards, on the short side. Now, this may be the very reason my pal loves it! His distance has increased magically! As much as I would like to believe that I have picked up added distance as a result of the sky caddie, I have to be realistic and assume that for whatever reason, it just seems to be inconsistent in its readings. I have asked that he no longer give me the sky caddie distance and have gone back to sprinkler heads, markers,,,just give me the size of the green.

There has been occasion where the gps just does not pick up the signal, yet come back on another day and it works fine.

I feel it slows down play, at least initially. Rationale, if the course has not been inputted, he is inputting the each hole, size of green, and focus changes to the toy instead of real play. And input for the same course on different days has occured more than once. I dread going to a course that is not logged into the system with him. If the course is perceived to be inputted correctly, then yes, I see its benefit in adding to a faster pace round, provided that playing partners are not asking for yardage!

I have not experienced the bushnell 1500, with/without slope. The difference is one with slope is not sanctioned for handicap, usga, and tournament use. What I find exciting about the 1500 happens to be not only distances to pins, but distance to hazards, doglegs..., with pinpoint accuracy, at least that's what Sergio says!

I wonder if the slope version adjusts not only for uphill, but for downhill as well...?

Nikon?

Maybe the hunting version of the bushnells to save a few dollars?

battery life?

size (does matter, and smaller is better?)?

anyway, wondering if any of y'all have input.

If you aren't all ready a member, go to www.gea.com

There have been multiple threads about all of these devices on there.

However, this site seems to be down most of today.

I'm not exactly sure where to go, but I've decided to pierce my nipple...

Oops. I typed that reply right around midnight. Should have been sleeping rather than here!

But, in case you are inclined to follow that lifestyle on the other site, please post a picture of your facial expression while your nipple is being pierced [:0].

It's not that the piercing hurts so much. It's when it gets stuck in your girlfriend's ring and she pulls away without knowing about it. That hurts.

Thanks for the link to the nipple site. After careful consideration I have decided to pass on any piercings, although my knowledge of this subject is invaluable.

The information on the other site was not as interesting, but very informative to making a decision.

GPS has come a long way. In time, I think the product will matriculate itself into a wonderful device for the skilled golfer. Each of the three that I looked at had its benefits, but not one had all.

For now, I purchased the bushnell pinseeker 1500. It appears to be razor sharp in its distance measure, very ez to use, and quick in its measurements. Shooting the distance to flags, traps, hazards, doglegs, etc. is a snap. It can be used for any course without any preplanning.

The downside, line of site is a must, much bulkier than the gps, and you can count on playing partners calling out for measurements in what seems the most inconvenient times (walking back and/or sideways to their ball :) )...
