Ive counted up 4 definate different makeovers on my swing and im ready to get everything right on this try.

My swing is capable of producing great shots 80% of the time and it varies from day to day. From a swing that produced a lot of throwaway and an inconsistant ball flight, my current swing produces a much more consistant ball flight and generally straighter shots. When they do fly off-line its never as bad and I still get a sizzle sound at impact but don't feel I really truely understand my swing.

Anyways - i've been looking at a way of reworking my swing and saw a post by yoda on the TGM basic cirriculum on stage 1 - two feet in either direction. I am extremely patient so if I spend 4 5 6 months at two feet back and forth - I don't mind.....

Would this be a good method to reworking the swing going through the 3 stages ?

^ that's a myth

From Carey Mumford's site, clearkeygolf.com:

How long does it take to master a process?

Here we refer specifically to the use of clear keys, but it's the same for any other process. The short answer is "It takes as long as it takes." If that sounds flippant, like a cliche, then think about it for a minute. Everyone is different. At KeyGolf, that has been demonstrated through 25 years of profiling. The clear indication is that there are no two people who are exactly alike - not even identical twins. The time-frame for learning is as variable as all those different people. There are parameters, but they stand like shadows in the background. Should you want to see them clearly, you can do so by reading any of the books written by Erik Erikson. He spent a lifetime in research and writing about such matters. We suggest that if this holds enough of your interest, you may want to ask for one of his books as a Christmas gift. It will serve you for a lifetime. His studies are timeless.

Matt,
No argument there. Six months on two feet back and forth does seem a bit excessive. I am only speaking in generalities. Also, check out GSED Mike Hebron's book "Golf Swing Secrets...and Lies, Six Timeless Lessons". Hebron goes in great detail into The Nature of Learning as it relates to golf. Well worth the read and makes a great Christmas gift as well.

One of the best books you'll find on the swing.... shows the 'sameness', the core concepts, as well as any. Great book.
