I don't like them much either. Of course I'm stuck in the late 80's/early 90's with the visor. Seems like hardly anyone wears THOSE any more.

I'm sensing a subtle damnation of Tiger ushering in the era of baseball hats. Well, get over it. I'm for broad appeal, not narrow (visor) appeal.

Just because you wear a baseball hat, doesn't mean you're gonna appeal to broads.

I said nothing against baseball hats. I AM opposed to looking like a tour de France cyclist with pants playing golf.
What if you're a middling tour pro? In that case, the "tour de France cyclist with pants playing golf" makes you lots lots lots lots lots more money than you otherwise you have made.

No subtle damnation here...I always liked the way the old Phil and Freddy looked when I first started playing golf. That probably has more to do with my preferences than anything. BTW, I love Tiger.

This was THE look when I started playing golf. Freddie, DLIII, Phil (when he wasn't in that oh so 90's gel look) and so many others.
I just happen to feel more comfortable in a visor. I sweat more in a hat and a visor keeps me cooler AND the sun/sweat out of my eyes. I can't speak for anyone else but there is no damnation of Tiger in what I say. It's more of a nostalgia thing for me when I was young, a couple of players still used persimmon, and guys wore visors.
P.S. That comment about appealing to broads was excellent.
