Right arm straightening

Depends on whether you are a swinger, hitter, or switter, or something else I can't readily spell. If you are more of a swinger generally you will keep the right arm bend for a lot longer. David Tom's is probably at about 70 degrees at impact as an example. Study a player you swing close to though, or you think you have the physical ability to swing more similar to.

You want it bent for a little while. The right arm straightening early is a loss of power. Look at the impact position from the down the line (of good players), that elbow is still very much bent.

Only until well after the ball is gone do the both arms get straightened out.

Wouldn't a swinger's arm straighten when centrifugal force pulled it straight?

Yeah eventually, but your right arm straightening is still limited by the left arm. Thus maintaining the right arm flex has a lot to do with maintaining the pp #4.

When does the Right Elbow straighten?

A Snap Release will have the Right Elbow straighten later than a Full Sweep Release.

Even with a Snap Release, the Right Elbow will start to straighten when the left arm passes its parallel to the ground position in the Downstroke. The Checkrein Action (leash) of the Left Arm that forced the Right Elbow to bend in the Backstroke is now allowing straighten again.

For Maximum Compression, the Right Arm does not become straight until after Impact.
