Right arm swinger

Hi Everyone,

Maybe someone can help me?? I have been wondering how it is possible to get to low point after the ball but have a bent left wrist at impact with the shaft leaning away from the target?? The ball flight is obviously high but the strike is good:rolleyes:

Is this a so called right arm swinger?? Kinda like Vijay Singh or a Greg Morman??

Any thoughts??

It aint possible! Simple as that.

Ah yes, the religious ball striker with the bent left wrist at impact... never made it real far on tour though...:p

So why was his ball flight so high smarty pants??

What Jim has replied with makes more sense to me, this type of move is great for short game but long game?? Is there a way of working with such a pattern? Or is it advised to fix the impact alignment??

He was making light of your mispelling of *N*orman's last name.

I think Norman's high ball flight is from a ton of spin he generated with what should be a FLW. However, his failing at the 72nd of several major was a major bailout to the right which to my mind was due to a bad horizontal hinge - pressure induced lock up.

As to the bent left wrist for full swings I doubt it it is something to do. In recent video review and discussion, it seems John Cook flips (bent left wrist) and also iirc Ben Curtis have been caught doing it at times.

And just to be clear a bent left wrist (flipping) is not the same as right arm swinging.

I'm not an expert on right arm swinging, few are, but I think a FLW is still their goal.

Wrong

A mid-sole chip or pitch is exactly what the poster is talking about.

How can you make such an inference from what was written?

The question was

I have been wondering how it is possible to get to low point after the ball but have a bent left wrist at impact with the shaft leaning away from the target??

Low point, being underground, is not going to be reached if the leading edge of the club face is not going to dig down into the sod after impact.

So, given that the left wrist was bent and the club shaft was leaning backwards away from the target, the club would bounce rather than dig and true geometric low point would, could, not be reached.

If you think about what Jim said he mentioned the pattern being similar to a mid sole pitch or chip refering to the impact alignment, so the mid sole is the area of the club which is getting to low point NOT the leading edge hence divot after ball with a high ball flight.

What i would like know to improve the impact alignment is are such drills like learing to uncock the left wrist good?? and moving ball position more forward??
