Right forearm through impact

Lately I've been playing around (testing) alignments where I consciously align my right forearm with the shaft at address, probably lose it on the backswing, then try to duplicate that alignment through impact. My tests are reasonably inconclusive, but it seems as if that position would support the shaft. Has anyone else tested this? What did you learn?

That's Mo Norman Leek, loads of data on other sites about this........

It is the "right forearm flying wedge" when the right forearm is not only inline with shaft but the right wrist is bent....described by Homer Kelley, used many many.... although not always consciously ;)

Now whether it "supports" the shaft during impact (if you believe that you need to support the shaft....) OR it is merely an alignment that occurs if the application of force by the right forearm is on plane with lagging clubhead ... it does not matter.... it is a good thing through release to beyond impact...

I'm not trying to be a pr***k, but...

Leek, I've always thought that, too. But I was basically made fun of on this forum for subscribing to a heavy hit or support thru impact. If the clubhead is acting like it's thrown off the shaft, does any of this matter at all. I would like Brian to clear this up once and for all so that we can stop discussing things the physics guys say are worthless.

If that FEEL results in great shots, then do not abandon it because it is scientifically incorrect.

The goal is to play great golf.

This is really just tinkering and learning. I have a mental disorder:) that makes me constantly experiment with my golf swing to test ideas. Many times in lessons, the instructor has asked me to perform something and I'll respond, "Oh, I've tested that." and then perform whatever it is. Often times in lessons, Brian is sorting through my goofy ideas to find the one out of three that are decent ideas. Poor guy

It hasn't resulted in great shots, but it is in the 30s here and I'm not sure I can trust any results in that weather with my LOFT (Lack of Freakin Talent). It does FEEL heavy, but it also feels like it might reduce clubhead speed; I'm not sure.

It also feels as if it tilts the path more inside-out, which for me is probably not a good thing. My pattern is somewhere between a soft fade and NHA (per Brian).

What makes it interesting to me, is that I often putt with that feeling and it seems to aid in distance control and solid impact with a putter.

The difference when you are using it for putting is that you probably have a palm grip which suits better forearm alignment...
The finger grip and forearm alignment are pretty difficult ot keep matched up....
