Right palm off the grip

In an effort to stop me hooking, i've started taking a grip where I feel like I hold the club with the thumb and fingers of the right hand only, the right palm is off the grip entirely. This allows me to still turn the rigjht hand over through impact but it must be a little less agressively as its squarer at impact

Been hitting some nice shots this way but boy it feels weird. I know this is a quick fix but dont guys like VJ and Fred Couples do something similar?

Thomas,

What about the good 'ole #3 pressure point? When I start hooking it a lot I feel like I lose the feeling of the sweet spot. Make sure you can sense the sweet spot turning off the plane - so you don't hook it! :D

Be really grateful for some ideas, thoughts, drills to help ,me feel this becuase right now I just dont seem able to. A few fleeting times i think ive had the sweet spot on my pressure points coming down, but then its gone ...

The point is......

When hooking it, isn't a person turining the sweet spot off of the plane too fast or too much already?

Clubface control may not be the culprit for TTT hooks, could be swingpath too.

Anyhoo, if he can't sense where the sweetspot is at he'll never be able to tell how much is too much (or not enough :p ).

After hitting some balls last night I think when my right palm is hard against the grip it overpowers any feeling I can get in that forefinger. When I take it off I can sense the club much more?

The sooner you can turn the sweetspot off the plane the more left you can swing

Can you exlain? I struggle with pulls and I have been told I need to swing more left. Problem is when I feel like I really turn the sweet spot off the plane I hook it off the planet or pull it even worse. I almost have to have the feel of leaving it on the plane to hit straight shots. Thanks.

Yeah +1 to that. Hence why I've taken the right hand off .. seems to let me feel pp3 longer and be able to fully release it left - presumably because its weakening my grip and lessening the speed of me turning the club over though impact?
