I don't have a great swing, but I think it is getting better, albeit s-l-o-w-l-y. I've been working on a better pivot, etc. Also, I don't flip nearly as much as I used to and there a number of times that I'll make ball-first contact and then and leave a divot.
Regardless, I've noticed that I seem to be "hiking" up my right shoulder and practically sticking it into my right ear (perhaps a little dramatic) during my downswing. I know this is wrong but I'm not sure why I'm doing it. Do I somehow do this when I'm going to flip at it? Am I afraid I'll hit the ground first, so I pull my right shoulder up? Maybe I'm trying to hold it up thinking this will avoid any throwaway? Any thoughts as to why or more importantly, suggestions to get me to stop doing this would be greatly appreciated! Also, it's screwing up my neck
Thanks,
p
