Truth & Rumors: Rory McIlroy says switching clubs 'won't make difference'

Rory McIlroy is teeing it up in Dubai this week for one final fling with his trusty Titleists. But, during Tuesday's press day at the European Tour's DP World Tour Championship, all the questions were about his next year's models, Nike clubs unless everyone in the golfing world is incorrect.

McIlroy has been coy about the switch. Earlier this month, he announced he wouldn't be playing Titleist clubs next season, but neither he nor Nike has confirmed that McIlroy will be playing Nike clubs in 2013. And until he actually puts the clubs in play, those inclined to comment (that's you, Nick Faldo), are concerned that switching bats will knock the Rory off his roll.

But is the kid himself concerned? According to a Reuters report:

"No, not at all.

"I think all the manufacturers make great equipment nowadays and it's all very similar - a lot of them get their clubs made at the same factories. I don't think it will make any difference."

Clearly, McIlory isn't just pulling something off the rack. In fact, he said he is in the process of "tinkering" with his future clubs to get acquainted. That probably won't stop golf fans from chirping over the change until he wins again. Fair guess, though: They won't be worrying long.

He's really switching to PowerBilt.

I hope he uses the Air Force One driver! I can't believe the nitrogen charged driver hasn't taken off like the white ones have.
