It's interesting that Tiger's playing in a lot more tournaments early in the season than Rory is. Is the main reason for this discrepancy their difference in age? Rory's got his whole career ahead of him so he has to pace himself and not burn out. Tiger, meanwhile, knows that time is running out. So he wants to have plenty of tournaments under his belt by the time his last few precious major tournament opportunities roll around?

I suspect that

Pro's play in tourney's for the following reasons (not in order of priority):

- Appearance fees
- Close to home/family/college
- Like the course
- Have played well there previously
- Love the facility (i.e. Greenbrier)
- Depth of field (deep or shallow depending on player)
