Running out of right arm

Hey guys, i'm trying to rid myself of a problem of running out of right arm and scooping the ball particularly with my short irons. Woods i'm hitting really well at the moment and longest i've ever hit them.

To get better though i've got to start hitting my wedges in particular a lot more consistently.

Here's some video.. interested in your thoughts

Running ouy of right arm

Looks like my swing a little while ago.Too tilted to the right at setup and swinging too far to the right. Thanks to Brian I'm now learning to swing left.Just listen to Brian and his staff and they will help you.Just my take I'm learning things everyday on this site. E

Here ya go:

You have several problems that are VERY easy to fix in person.

I am sure you'll get dozens of emails from well-meaning pros, follwers of other teachers and websites, and maybe even some pajama-grams, but if you'll listen to me, I'll upgrade your swing—no problem.

You do several thing that some pros like. Thank god for those guys, 'cuz I'll always have business.

#1 - Your set-up is very similar to many golfers I see these days. Here is the "picture fix."

Now, you may ask, what is the yellow dot for? Well it is a "dot" that several teachers are now drawing as the "answer" to good impact. Personally, I think it is not very useful.

Why?

Well, you are a good example, you "return" to the dot at impact, but you still have poor impact.

Why do you have poor impact? Becuase your swing is too flat, you have next to ZERO backswing pivot, and you swing too far to the right.

For now, I'd like you to do three things:

1. Set-up like the "after" photo.

2. LIFT your arms on the backswing until you "show your underarms."

3. Do not follow any other advice.

Report back. ;)

Brian,
What's that bloody gert monster with the big teeth that has appeared in the tree behind Eric's right shoulder?

Watch it Eric, Big Brian is watching you ...:D

Hey Brian, have tried the setup as per your after picture. Feels a lot more dynamic and i can really feel the loading as per your comments in "Flipper".

Hit some really solid wedges on the weekend which with a bit of float loading was a LOT easier. I was however hitting some of my irons a bit thin i.e. on target but 3 clubs longer and lower, no divot.

A question and reporting back....

Brian - any comments on what those things are and why they are bad?

Brian, your quote "You do several thing that some pros like." any dislikes in particular?

For now my old setup with the driver is working GREAT... been hitting the straightest and longest drives i've ever hit with a bit more tilt at address... doesn't work with the irons though

Hey Brian, any thoughts on that new setup position above?

Playing better with the mid body hands but still fighting some push slices with the irons

Thanks

Since mid hands are only a small part....

The mid-body hands are only a SMALL part of the address fix.

The main thing is the positioning of your upper body.

Much less tilt. Much more centered.

Would the more centered, less tilt position with slight (very slight) forward lean work ok? I seem to hit better with a slight forward lean for some reason.
