Sand shot

How do I play a sand shot with the ball above my feet? Not above towards the hole, but in front of my chest. My standard swing of opening the clubface and swinging across the line does not work as the sand gets higher above the ball.

That's becuase the hill adds loft.

Simply play the shot with a less lofted club or add more roll though the shot.

Does he mean that the lie is changing his lie angle and not the loft?
