SD Closed Clubface

SD 1.0 was working great but recently everything is left of left. It feels like the face is dead closed at the top. Hanging the toe sometimes work but leads to inconsistent low point. Anyone else deal with anything like this?

Yep, I had great success as well but now I'm hooking like crazy. Super low and left. I had them taken care of for the past few weeks but they came out today. Worst golf of the year.

Is it possible that yall are overdoing "the toss"? It seems like, for the better players, this would be easy to do and would lead to players moving back and forth between the SD and NHA patterns. I recall that in SD, Brian mentioned that the toss is close to what is done in the central pattern. I wonder what the exact release mechanism is for Do It Right?

I had this issue, keeping my tailbone ahead of my neckbone helped significantly. Also, making sure my left thumb is under the shaft in the backswing helped as well. I found I was closing the clubface too much on takeaway, with the left thumb staying to the side of the grip, not under.

It seems the only way I can keep from closing the club going back is to over-rotate the left arm flying wedge, which I don't want to do.

How to STOP THE HOOKS with SD1

Here is a list:

1. Less across the line at the top.

2. More "gather up the marbles" in the toss.

3. Move the "one last point" DIRECTION to the left.

4. Hips more open at impact.

5. Backswing slightly less in.

6. Slightly more hip slide going back.

These should help a bunch.

Thanks Brian. I think "gather up the marbles" would be like an under-handed toss through impact. Like you scoop up marbles through impact and toss them back over your left shoulder at the finish. I think I got that from Brian or someone on here but don't quite remember where I heard it, not trying to take credit for someone else's thoughts.

"Gather up the marbles" straightened me out. In fact I'm pushing a lot of shots but striking them very well with a soft draw.

Gather up the marbles

Can you explain what that means? Thanks

To "gather up the marbles," pretend there is a large bucket of marbles in front of you. As you go through the swing movement in question (in this case, the toss), act like you are "gathering up" the marbles with your right hand.

Your right hand motion will be a little more underhanded, and a full "gather up the marbles" movement will result in the right palm facing you in the swivel position.

Perhaps "Paint da house daniel san" might work too :D
