SD NHA = swing left

It would make sense that NHA would be designed to make your swing more left through impact compared to the SD pattern. But I find that I swing left much easier with a SD backswing. When I rotate my left arm more as prescribed in NHA, it makes me feel like I can't get back on top of the sweet spot. Not sure if that was described correctly.

I realize feel and real exist and patterns are customizable.

Any one have similar experiences or feelings with swing left and the type of backswing needed for them to do so more naturally.

Thanks,

No. I actually hook the ball more when I feel a NHA backswing, in particular the rotation of the left arm. Maybe it's the softer left wrist the SD type backswing provides.

no offense but it sounds like you are doing both patterns incorrectly. NHA when done correctly should create a straight fade or slight pull fade or when done wrong just a dead pull. Soft draw should create a ideally a soft draw.

I fully understand that, and I do hit a slight draw with SD, but I feel I swing more left with that pattern then NHA. I think with NHA, as I go up the wall I think instead of rotating the left arm, I bow my wrist and it closes the face.

Have you watched this on video from DTL?
sounds like in the transition you are going under plane. If you are going back up the wall and coming down to the left it is crazy hard to roll the clubhead over to a point of a hook. A pull can happen much easier though.
