Set-up and backswing

Due to a fall some years ago I have scar tissue build-up in my left wrist (I'm a righty) and find it hard to maintain extension going back to a good load/cocked position at the top. I find myself 'flipping out' going down and my shot dispersion is always left of target (a pull and feeling OTT) and contact thin and towards the toe of the iron.

I was introduced to BM from another forum and found his u-tube videos interesting enough to order up the 'I used to be a Flipper' video (haven't received yet).

I have a neutral grip but feel cupped and was wondering if this cupped position at the address would further influence a early release in the downswing. I like the flat wrist position at impact your Group speaks of, I believe and curious to more info.

Wouldn't one be able to arrive at a slightly bowed impact position a little easier from a stronger grip than a neutral grip? If I'm neutral at the address I see a 'slightly cupped' position when looking down... unless of course I move my connection over more towards my left side. Could you speak a bit about the pre-set position and why? Thanks
