Since the sweetspot for most irons is soemwhere between the center of the clubface and the hosel, when setting up do you align the ball with the center of the iron, or closer to the actual sweetspot?

Thanks

A very interesting concept. Something you notice a lot with Hogan, Snead, Norman, etc, but not with modern players. Perhaps a lost secret to good ballstriking.

I'm guessing the more flexible you are, especially in the shoulder joints and arms, the more you need to plan for the extension through impact (or conversely, fight it at impact)?

I have noticed better ball striking with aligning more in the middle. I used to align closer to the hosel thinking that I should line up with the sweetspot, but lets just say that turned into a very bad idea, at least for me

Maybe I'm misinformed, but my understanding was that almost all modern irons are built with the sweetspot in the middle of the clubface. Old blades, of course, had the sweetspot near the hosel, but not newer clubs.
