Severe Inside Path - How to Correct?

My father hit balls on Trackman today and his path with a driver kept hovering around 5-8 degrees in to out with poor face control. His shots go all over the board because he can't control his path in relation to his club face (one time his path was 8.3 and his face 1.9). He has approxmiately 92 mpg clubhead speed on average and his attack angle was generally around 4 degrees on average. He even had a large in to out path on some shots that he hit on the upswing.

Even when I had him try to cut the ball he would have a big in to out path which I couldn't figure out. His vertical swing plane with the driver was high at 53-56 degrees.

Any thoughts/guesses why his club path is so much in to out? I know the 4 degree attack angle doesn't help, but when I saw him try to change his HSP there was still a large in to out path.

I want him to get his path down first and then focus on clubface control.

I've got a drill that Brian gave me. Have him try to hit his driver off the deck. To get the face on it and get it airborne he will have to come more out to in.

Another suggestion. I think you have to have him changing his face sooner than later. Even if it is a looping draw he will start to understand the face path relationship. Also check where on the face he's hitting it (toe) and if you can get him to have a positive attack, make sure he aims right.

I'll love to hear the outcome as well as the experts analysis.

Best of luck and great opportunity to get on the Trackman.

Steve
