Question for anybody who has done Trackman work to shallow the swing and move the swing direction to the right...
Have you noticed that the "feel" is to need to get the clubface more square/closed than you might initially expect?
Maybe it's just me but I was expecting to need to hold off the closure a bit because my instinct was that I was swinging more out to the right, thus introducing a greater possibility of losing shots to the left from hooks. I've noticed just the opposite...
The more I shallow the swing and bring angle of attack into positive numbers, getting swing direction from left (previously) to the right with positive AoA, while still keeping path near zero, the feel is that I actually have to work harder to square the clubface or else I will lose shots to the right.
It's totally counter to what I thought would happen and perhaps it's just a transatory feel as I get more accustomed to the new AoA and direction.
Perhaps I was used to a feel where the old leftward swing direction and steep swing needed the face much more to the right of the swing direction, and now with the more neutral (or rightward) swing direction the clubface needs to feel much more shut in relation to it.
The "feel" in the hands may be more related to swing direction than swing path?
Does this make any sense
