Can one shank with a closed club face?
Or is it because one lags the hosel, with a very open face.
Langer
instead of looking for a reason why you shank, look for the reason why the hosel gets in the way of the sweetspot.
example, you can have a club face that looks closed, but if you are too close to the ball, then the hosel will still get in the way and you will still lag the hosel.
in almost all occasions: shanks=lagging the hosel
