I have a neutral grip (per Brians instructions). My instructor says my wrists should be cupped at the top because my clubface is closed. What gives? Maybe my grip really is not neutral causing the closed face, maybe too much arch at the top....dont really know why its closed at the top or how to proceed.

thanks

A neutral grip with a flat left wrist will produce a square clubface at the top. A neutral grip with a arched left wrist at the top will produce a slightly closed club at the top but don't worry about the top as long as it is flat. Worry about impact.

Agree with Jim. The alignments are much more critical at impact than at the top. For some, a cupped left wrist at the top is a result of a lack of right wrist bend which is usually done in preperation for a bend at impact. For some, maintaining an angle from start to finish is much more difficult than performing it during the stroke.
