Should the shaft bend during the swing?

This may seem like a very basic question for those that are experienced with club fitting:

I recenlty saw a photo of myself swinging the driver and noticed the shaft had a fair amount of bend as the club was near the point of impact.

Is this expected or should I be using a stiffer shaft? Would a stiffer shaft produce more consistent results? Longer, straighter?

Thanks
Ron

Wow, you learn something new everyday. Thanks!

Here's one of the photos: Is this considered rolling shutter?

Not to the extent you saw, but yes the shaft should bend during the swing... it will at different stages of the swing and in different directions.

Is the shaft bending & unbending one of the gear effect components?????
There is shaft bend even before it hits the ball. E.g. shortly before impact on a driver the shaft will 'kick forward' to align the COG of the head with the shaft (at least that's what I understood from Michael's video 'Show Three, Shaft Deflection & Release' on The Explosive Golf Show).
