Shoulder alignment at impact and squaring the clubface

Brian,

In your Whirlwind Week Part 1 video you spoke about the alignment of the shoulders at impact and the work Chuck Cook has done with the K-vest.

As you stated, because the left arm starts across the chest and not hanging down at the side most good/great players get back to impact with the shoulders about 35º open to their target line in order to help square up the blade.

At Christmas I got the chance to see some footage of Tiger at The Grove last year. It was interesting to see that his shoulders, of all the great players, are much less open at impact. It was interesting when you stopped his swing on the downswing with the shaft parallel to the ground how his right hand was much more on top than many others and through impact and beyond how much hand action he employs, a very aggressive "horizontal hinge", it seemed.

Would I be right in thinking that he needs to do this with his hands because of how square his shoulders are at impact?
