sit down move

wathched a dvd on explosive golf and have a question about what i take is basically the 'sit down' move in the forward swing. it says it is an actual location to hit rather than going immediately to the left. problem is i can't really stay in that spot to get the down move. if i go to the left, i don't get the club down far enough and hit thin. i know i'm missing something here. how do you know if you've got to the sit down spot when you are trying to go left? thanks for some help.

I'm not sure what was said on that video but personally I like the sitdown move to be in the takeaway. This makes the rotation in the downswing easier and less stressfull when lengthening the left side at and through impact.

Did you read Golf Digest this month??

That move was in there.

Sorry mate, I haven't read one of those in years. Plus, I'm living in Thailand and they just want too much for it in the stands. I like some of the pictures though.:)

Just a quick after thought. The sitdown move can be promoted also by the way the hands change direction in the swing. Maybe some of the guys could help explain it better in TGM terms than I could.

SIt and Tilt

In a swing with a standard double shift -- (which was what i was describing component wise in explosive golf dvd) Sitting and tilting brings the club back down to the belt angle (elbow plane) from the truned shoulder plane

When sitting and tilting key points --- no pressure in shirt sleeves or shoulders

Read Glossary of Golfing MAchine under the term Axis tilt (it describes it perfectly) head stays steady -- shoulders tilt through the hips
Example pouring tea with a teapot
Left Shoulder is the handle of the tea pot and right shoulder is the spout
Axis tilt brings right elbow into the belt angle (elbow plane)

FEELING IS FROM THE FEET

is your idea and thought pretty much the same as brian's in his video answer section? i'm understanding it i think. just the thought that when it is said that some players mistakingly go right past the move and immediately to the left side has me thinking "did i get to the sit down position or not"? hmmm.
