Snap Hooks

Hi guys, a couple of questions on 'snap hooks' i.e. the ball that starts low left and curves even further left

Qn: What is the major cause of these? and if you were going to try and hit the opposite of this shot what would it be and from what pattern i.e. NSA or NHA ?. If you start hitting a lot of snaps on the course is trying to hit the opposite a valid thought? (e.g. the overdose theory)

Cheers

Good Question...

Here it is....

You are swinging too far to the right. Period.

The clubface is TOO CLOSED. Period.

ANYTHING you can do—like NHA—to stop doing those two, will help.

:)

The driver off the deck drill is very helpful to most.

Thanks Brian, probably explains the couple of pushes i hit as well.. very solid contact just straight right. The snaps are probably the same too much inside out then just with a flip at the bottom. It's hard to get into your mind to swing further left though when the snaps are already going left !!

I know that you've been over this before Brian but would you mind explaining again your way of hitting a fade ?

Cheers

Bergsey, I hear ya....The occaisional untimely snap hook has been the turd in my punch bowl...

At times in my life, I've gone years without hitting a real "Wesley" (as in Snipes)

The driver off the deck is a shot I'm comfortable with and use often. I wonder why my action gets "under and up" with a tee sometimes?? I wish it wasn't in my pattern. Sure can add a double to the card pretty quickly.

I find that trying to take a divot (not that I can do it) with my driver keeps me from too much axis tilt. It's seems like I always have to blend from too much over it, back to on plane, then too much under.... pretty depressing sometimes.

Yeah for some reason it's even worse for me with my 3 wood (which might also be a shaft issue i need to check out) so if i hit a few it's way back down to a 3 iron off the tee for some safety.

When i hit one i definately get the feel of the right shoulder going a long way down which is probably the excessive tilt
