Soft Draw Pattern question . . .

Brian, If I digested Soft Draw Pattern correctly, most of the positions of the Phil Mickelson practice round would fall under SDP, especially the first and last picture, correct?

Yes!!

The only pic that wouldn't be "Soft Draw" is the takeaway (pic 2). Too phoney baloney outside.

Yeah, I thought you might say that about picture 2. And yes, I really liked it. Due a sprained left ankle, I can't really do much shifting to the left, I plan on watching and ingraining SDP1.0 a few times this week before taking it to the range. Of what I could do, The tossing of the club felt very natural and unforced to that "toe up and at the target" position.

This is my pattern also, and I tend to hit a straight shot when attempting fades. What is the simplest way to adjust this pattern for a fade? Could you simply open your stance and the clubface, and then make the same swing? Or would that lead to a bunch of double crosses?

BTW this is an excellrnt video, very easy to follow.

How about at the top of his backswing? At the top Phil isn't the same as the SD pattern is he? I like the position, but not really "across the line."

From watching the video I really took to it. I watched of Confessions and NSA and while at first it did some great things to my game the description on negative torquing "check swing" is really close to what's happening to me. My swing is actually partially the SD pattern already because I had a lot of (underplane?) issues with the full NSA pattern.

Question though, I used to do the step right step left for a while but I found myself sliding off the ball in the backswing. Any tips on preventing that?

Oh I see.

I just figured something was wrong cause he called it 'phoney baloney' (the B Word!)...

...?!?

Brian, great video. It will certainly be a classic!

In addition to what was discussed in the video, what would you recommend or suggest to help me in shallowing the club on the downswing. I tend to get a little steep. Axis tilt helps, but isn't the total fix in my case.

I think most tour players have the shaft covering the right forearm halfway down during thte downswing. My shaft tends to favor the left arm.
