soft draw problem

Hi all, i have been working on the soft draw and played my first round yesterday using it.I was happy with the results for the most part, the ball was either flying straight or drawing nicely but for some reason on 3 holes i hit 3 ugly push slices. Can anyone give me any pointers as to what components of the pattern failed to cause these shots so i can work on getting rid in the future.

Cheers
Paul

Face way open to path. Why??

Thats what i would like to know. I hope to get some video up soon so maybe i can some advice on why this happens.I have allways had a flat swing(only 5ft 5 playing with standard length and lie clubs for years). Got custom fitted for a set of Wishon's back in Dec and am rebuilding my swing so i am a bit all over the place at the moment.

I think that I read somewhere on here that when you do the softdraw but end up with a laid-off top of backswing position (as opposed to slightly across the line) you can expect push slices. Might be something to look at.

Also, working the club into javelin position could open up the shaft or make you late with the toss. Softer transition, slightly stronger grip, more bend in the left wrist after impact perhaps.

Thanks Kevin,i have been working on a flatter left wrist, after reading the impact zone by Bobby Clampett, and think i may have over done it a bit.I feel like i am now dragging through impact and not releasing the club at all.I will try softing the wrist a bit and see where that takes me

That is always the down side to keeping that flat left wrist. What is happening is you are over accelerating your arms, while keeping that locked flat left wrist. You still have to let the clubhead free wheel through impact. Holding that flat left wrist and over accelerating your arms leads to a visit to underplaneville.
