On all of my shots, woods, irons, putts, I come out of the shot. I am totally aware of it but cannot seem to fix it. What causes this? Is it anatomical or mental? What drills do you suggest I do to fix this fault? Jim Blackwell:D

You are FORCED to come out of your spine angle.

Why?

To me, it almost always means you are hitting up on it or are 'RE-lifting' your arms and club in a help it up or STEERING mode.

Remember, UP THE WALL/DOWN THE WALL/LEFT OF THE WALL;)

When I am pull out of my spine angle, its because my hips didnt rotate correctly, instead of rotating they sort of move forward which lifts the spine. If i think of rotate my hips, i do that, but if i think of rotating my shoulder, i dont. If i think about moving my hands then my pivot is usually good, it moves to allow my hands to go where i intend them to go.
That brings me to a question about definitions.... Hands controlled pivot-i move my hands and the pivot responds.
PIVOT controlled hands- i move my pivot and my hands responds.
Is the above correct??

And if you pay attention to your thumb, you can find the wall ;)

Brian,

I would also like to understand the differences in hands controlled pivot and pivot controlled hands. Could you explain?

Grab the milk from the frig turn and pour a glass. Your brain is sending and recieving data from hands.Hands controlled pivot.

Can some one please describe where this image of the wall is and how the thumb helps?

Sounds like a pivot problem. Do you rotate your shoulder back flat, or more tilted?
[8)]I rotate my shoulders back flat. Yesterday I felt the same frustration. When I practise swing with focus on the spine angle staying correct, I can do it. But when I swing I know I come out-all the time.Tahnks for your question.
