Spinning out

When Brian gave me my lesson I learned that I was spinning out and not going cross line with my hips. Then I see slow motion of JB Holmes and Daley and see how their hips get so far ahead of their
upper body and arms creating their power.

What is the difference in what they are doing than spinning out? Is it they have some hip slide and a spin out doesn't?

My definition of spinning out is when the right shoulder moves outward when the hips turn. The right shoulder should move downward as the hips turn flat, after a lateral slide.

I never use the words 'spinning out,' it doesn't mean anything.

IMO, Joe, your hips were open too soon and it pulled your right shoulder off plane.
