stay in your posture...mid/long irons

I've been watching Brian's video answer of "stay in your posture" and the last segment is very good for working on keeping the right shoulder down as well as the hip bump. This actually works very well for me from the SW, PW, 9, 8, and mostly the 7 iron. However, any club longer than the 7, I'm really having trouble with. It doesn't work any more as I hit waaay before the ball. What else or more of do I have to do with the longer irons? I have no way of posting his video in this thread and I couldn't find the original post.

Thanks,

Can you post a link to the thread where you found this video answer? I'm just not sure what you are referring to in terms of Brian's video.

Just going on your description, though, my guess is that you are flipping it with the long and mid irons. You may normally stand up through the ball in order to make room for the flip, and by focusing on staying in your posture you have no room to flip it - so flipping means hitting it very fat. This is less likely to happen on short irons because even flippers flip a lot less (perhaps not at all) on short irons. Ask me how I know.

fronesis,
Thanks for your reply. I have Brian's video answer saved on my computer, must have downloaded it from a post somewhere but I've searched a few different and still can't find it. Thanks again for your answer, I'll work on that and see what happens.
