Steep with driver....

Hitting the driver 60% good during a round but...40% will be some kind of either skyball (though straight) or too high of trajectory.

I suspect this is because I get steep with the driver. Would appreciate comments on how to fix this.

Thanks

studied some long drive fella's a while back and was shocked just how low to
the ground the clubhead was way way before impact.used video to work on this myself and it felt so wrong for a while.for me it feels like the clubhead
is almost touching the ground before it passes my right foot.wow what a dif.
feels to me like staying way way way behind the ball.when Bman talks axis tilt, people sould listen.

More than likely you are letting your head sway foward at some point in the downswing which makes you lose all your axis tilt and makes the arms/club come in very steep.

Try to keep your head back longer and your tailbone more foward. As a drill, hit half shots with a 5 iron finishing at the 3/4" postion with your head still looking at where the ball was. You should see your divot before you see the ball flying away.

This should get you to stay in your tilt more. Once you can do that, move up to the drive and replicate the same thing, however let your head come out of the "look down" position or you'll end up hooking the ball off the planet :)

Cool, thanks to both of you!

I remember in my lesson with brian he was telling the driver needed to be low going out and coming in..even after finish.

Thanks again!
