Stepping through the shot – good or bad?

I generate enough lower body and/or hip turn that as I finish my shot, I often step through with my right foot. When I don’t step through, generally my right foot slides next to my left on the follow through. My misses are often pulls / hooks.

Should I try to quiet my lower body? Slow down the swing? Does this create a problem by itself or is this symptomatic of other issues?

In fighting the pull, I have found it helps to set-up with the ball a little further back in my stance and a little further away from by body.

Thanks,

Ron
