Stiff Shafts For Less Left?

You hear this a lot.....but then you hear conflicting things.

Is this ALWAYS true??? Or does it depend on the swing?

And what about trajectory with shaft flex?

Actually, if a shaft is too stiff for you it will cause pulls. Too weak generally causes slices, but could cause either. Better to err on the stiff side.

i think it has more to do with the weight typically stiffer shafts weigh a little more. I have a ping g2 with adynamic gold sl x100 tipped shaft in it 105 grams very stiff and heavy i love it hard to lose it left.

i've always thought that if a shaft was too stiff, you would typically hit shots with a fade to the right. too soft and you could go either way. can you clarify why?

It really depends on the golfer. If the shaft is too stiff they might start flipping at it to close it and hit hooks.

The common advice is to play the most flexible shaft you can. Same thought as Tom's just a different angle.

Then they aren't too stiff for you.

Not sure why exactly, but I used to be a fitter, and I still have my fitting set for SWING SYNC. performed many many blind tests. I was told this and the testing proved clubs that are too stiff for someone cause pulls.

Not really. Again too stiff = pulls. Too weak = slices, pulls, hooks but mostly slices.

So, with a club that produces a pull consistently it is easier to compensate.
