Hi all
Looking for some advice. Im recently back playing having had 6 or so years off including 2 rebuilds of my left knee. On returning to the game very wary of rotating over my left leg which led to me hitting with the weight on the right foot and being quite handsy. Initial attempts to improve my lower body action led to a very much lateral slide of my legs rather than a hip rotation (the hands can lead to a hook, the lateral slide can put me way ahead of the ball and hit block/fades)
Ideally I want to work on the hip rotation but when I do get this right Im hitting it way left as my hands are still "overworking". To counter act this I looked to weaken my grip, but ultimately what I have currently achieved is quite a weak right hand, but my left hand is still exceptionally strong. This almost gives me 2 hands which feel like they are figting each other, the left hand wanting to flip it, the right hand trying to hold the club off.
The only other apparent issues when looking at the video is that my left arm is quite bent at the top and my left wrist is very cupped (my flexibility isnt the best by a long shot).
Should my focus be on getting the grip right, getting the lower body rotating better, flattening the wrist, straightening the arm or something else, seems a lot to be trying to fix all at once but doing one bit at a time seems a little counterintuitive. Or am I looking at a complete rebuild starting at the grip and then working on the other issues one by one?
Any help gratefully received
