Swing Analysis Request - Stuart Appleby

Hey Brian, have enjoyed your swing analysis threads a lot.

If you get the time i'd like to put in a request for an analysis of Stuart Appleby's swing. Some say hitter, others say swinger, some say a bit of both.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts ! :)

Don't think he got any trace of 6-H-0-E, his alignment is getting better and better, and let start off with his right forearm.

He really disappeared this year. WIth that swing, I always thought he should contend more. Maybe the putter.

Played well at the Aust Open on the weekend..... just a bit unlucky on the home stretch. His short game is sensational

short -amateur- analysis

He is a doubleshifter:
1.) backswing: shifting up to the tourned-shoulder-plane (blue line)
2.) downswing: shifting back to the ellbow-plane (red line)

remarkable:
- the yellow line shows you, that he is not tracing the line in the backswing (little bit too flat)
- short arm swing (by far not parallel to the ground on top of the swing)
- stays a little bit under the TSP in his backswing
- hits the ball perfectly on the ellbowplane

thanks bergsey for the videolinks!

Cant be hitter. He is really a switter (a swinger with hitting tendances and adding). Most tour pros do this and a true hitter would be truely radially accelerating with no lenthwise drag. Their are very few true hitters in golf, however a true hitter ''if strong enough'' can be very effective.
