Swing help

Greetings to all members of the forum here, as summer is around the corner I was looking to get some advice on my swing, and specifically some advice from some TGM minds. Basically this year i went off to college and had not had a change to golf, but this summer i am really looking to get into it...

For starters obviously I am looking for any imput on my swing, tips/drills or any input at all to help my game.... On top of that I was wondering if my swing had a swinger look or hitter look too it? and how i could improve on that. Lastly, and I realize this is a long post, any recommendations for professionals in the houston area? I apologize for the length of this and look foward to the responses.

Buy Soft Draw if you don't have it already...that'll help with your position at the top and will make the downswing easier.

Hi VJ,

Why not NSA? I have just bought it a few days ago, reviewed it and went to the range yesterday. The information on the bent wrist takeaway and lagging plus feeling the sweet spot really help a ton.

My personal take on the video is that it is awesome and is full of useful 'feel' information that would do all golfers a lot of good. So I would say that it is a highly recommended buy too.

Just my 2 cents though.

I am certainly no expert..read my sig. IMO both NSA and SD are very orthodox, but what I see in Blitzs swing is a need to get that club pointed more down the line instead of pointed right "at the top". I think if he exaggerated the feeling of the SD takeaway and a "feel" of getting the club pointed to his left "at the top" it would help him tremendously. Also, the feel of step on the back foot in the BS would really help, reading his post and looking at his pivot makes me think he believes in the centered "tripod" stuff....just my thoughts.Peace.

Hi VJ,

If you look at my sig U would gather that I too do not know too much about the golf swing. :D

Not really trying to step on your comments here but I have all BB, NSA, NHA, SD and COFF in my collection. My latest addition is NSA and boy did I regret getting it last of all those that I have.

However, I do see that you put in a lot of contributions in the forum and for that you have my respect.

In the meantime, let's not move off-thread further than this.

Regards. ;)

Haha thankyou for the reply's and im sorry for starting a near brawl in here, but the feedback is great. For the record i have been trying to keep my head still in terms of my pivot, and i agree that i am laid of at the top. Keep the faults/fixes coming and please feel free to elaborate on how to fix them and or change parts of my swing

No brawl here...Im cool, Alexlimco is a good guy and just asked a question, as did you. My answer....1 Buy SD. 2. Go see Brian in N.O....its only a 6-7 hour Drive.;)

Hi,

No brawl here... just some friendly banter and my over-zealous effort in trying to help. :)

As for your swing being too laid off, I am not sure what caused it but your backswing does look a bit flat at the top and as VJ suggested you would benefit greatly from Brian's help.

If you can't get there to Brian, then the next best thing is to get the video(s) and try to work it out yourself. Trust me, it's worth every single cent that you put into it. The videos are awesome and full of layman type information that all golfers can benefit from.

BTW, I am in no way related or affiliated to Brian in any manner whatsoever. :D

Buy soft draw and look at this thread. http://www.brianmanzella.com/forum/golfing-discussions/6871-brian-manzella-insturction-article-links-inside.html Look at perfect pivot 1 and 2.

haha id love to take that drive, imo itd probably end up being worth it. Any specific tips or things i could work on going into the start of this golf season.

Any thing people like or dislike about my swing?

Not that the videos do not seem great i just feel i am more an active then passive learner. Any help would be greatly appreciated in critiqueing my swing or any advice for pros in houston would be very valuable as well.
