Swing Plane Board

Does anyone know where one can purchase a plane board similar to the one Brian uses in Never Slice Again 2.0? It appears to be foam or some other soft material. An extensive internet search brought me nothing

I'm open to making one if one isnt available online. The plane is approx 45* correct? Any advice would be appreciated!

I think the towel planeboard drill as a makeshift planeboard is good. Use a large towel if you need a better visual.

I've also use some cushions and they are just as good. Only that you won't see me bring cushions to the range. I don't think I'll bring a large planeboard to the range as well. So the towel is still the best for me.

cheers,

daniel

You can make a mini plane board as follows.

One 1" by 12" pine plank 3-4 feet long

2 door stoppers - Hinged type used on interior swinging doors - available at any hardware store for $2-$3.

Attach the hinges 2-3 inches form the bottom of the plank exactly parallel to each other.

The beauty of this plane device is that you can adjust quickly for any club/plane - from putter to driver.

I guess I should patent and go on the Golf Channel.

I'll try the towel planeboard, see if I like it before I rule it out. But I want something that resembles the piece Brian uses really. Two main reasons: because I want it to extend up the plane further than the towel and I don't really want to induce human error with not always producing the same plane.

I'm heading to the range after work tonight, I'll let you know how the towel worked.

Did you think of using a softer material when making this in case you hit it?

Dave

I only take slow motion swings, chips or putts on it. You could make one out of foam rubber and prop it up with a couple of 8-12" dowels.

I have built multiple plane boards and I personally don't find them that useful. I like using the lasers to work on plane. You can't take those to the range though.

Quick and easy and doable at home- find an old crappy golf book, you know the kind, and make an upside down "V" with it on the floor. It's not only adjustable, but also, useful for the fireplace when damaged. No charge.

I've seen the "wedge" Brian uses in Occupation/Physical therapy departments in various places I've worked. Try doing a search for "bed wedges".
